Huayu-Best study tour

The Huayu-Best Program aims to foster collaboration between our university and our sister school, Université Gustave Eiffel, as well as other nearby universities in France. This study tour is designed to offer high-quality courses and activities at an affordable price, allowing students from our sister schools who wish to learn Chinese to immerse themselves in Taiwan’s environment while effectively acquiring the language and experiencing Taiwanese culture.

I Program Description

1. Program Duration:

July 14 – July 25, 2025 (Chinese Proficiency Level: A1-A2)

2. Course Information:

  1. Chinese Language Classes (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing):
  • Held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday to Friday
  • A total of 14 days and 30 hours of instruction
  1. Taiwanese Cultural Experience Activities:
  • Four days per week dedicated to outdoor cultural experiences
  1. Cultural Arts and Skills Classes:
  • One day per week, featuring activities such as paper cutting, ink painting, Tai Chi, diabolo (Chinese yo-yo), and Chinese knotting

3. Accommodation:

Participants will be provided with well-equipped on-campus dormitories that offer a safe and comfortable environment.

  • Each room accommodates six beds and includes utilities and internet access.
  • The dormitory front desk is staffed by dormitory managers, supervisors, night security personnel, and volunteers on a rotating basis to provide immediate assistance when needed.
  • A vending machine is available near the front desk, allowing residents to purchase drinks and snacks.
  • In Dormitory 1 and Dormitory 2, there are two refrigerators on both the first and fifth floors for residents’ use.
  • Additional facilities include a common lounge, a self-study room, washing machines, spin dryers, tumble dryers, and drying racks.

4. Insurance

The program provides comprehensive travel insurance for each student, with coverage up to NT$3 million. The insurance includes:

  1. Accidental death and disability coverage
  2. Medical insurance for travel-related injuries
  3. Compensation for food poisoning
  4. Coverage for severe burns and scald injuries

5. Fees:

  1. Tuition + Course Materials: NT$14,000
  2. Accommodation: NT$10,700
  3. Insurance: NT$450
  4. Subsidy: NT$12,000 per person

After subsidy deduction, each participant only needs to pay NT$13,150.

Flight tickets and meals are not included.

The program’s group insurance only covers basic medical needs and does not include coverage for illnesses. Participants are advised to purchase additional health insurance before arriving in Taiwan based on their personal needs.

6. Other Important Notes:

  1. Students must book their own flights. If arriving a day earlier, Professor Hsieh can assist with airport pickup.
  2. Early arrivals before the program start date are not allowed.
  3. Only students are eligible to join the program. Participants must not hold Taiwanese, Chinese (including Hong Kong & Macau) nationality.

II Application Process

1. Eligibility Criteria

(1) Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a good academic record and conduct, and be a current student at Université Paris.

(2) The following individuals are NOT eligible to apply:

  • Those holding Overseas Chinese status or ROC nationality (including Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau).
  • Those who, during their stay in Taiwan, will simultaneously be exchange students under an academic cooperation agreement between their home university and a Taiwanese university.

2. Application Procedure

Step 1: Submit Application Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents via email:

  1. Taiwan Huayu-Best Study Tour Application Form
  2. Copy of passport (Ensure validity covers the duration of stay in Taiwan)
  3. Two 2-inch passport-sized photos
  4. Enrollment certificate in French or English
  5. Financial proof issued within the last three months (A recent bank statement or proof of sufficient funds with a minimum balance of €500 (approx. NT$18,000))

Late or incomplete applications will not be processed.

Step 2: Receive Payment Information

Qualified applicants will receive payment details.

Step 3: Payment Confirmation & Final Enrollment

Once the program receives the full payment, the application will be successfully completed.
